Gucci and Neukey excel in their first competitions of 2016
29th January 2016

Gucci competed at his second ever show at Quob EC. The weather was atrocious with the recent US storm finally reaching the UK. Nevertheless we braved the weather and came home with much improved scores from the last competition and some lovely comments from the judges about his potential for the future.

Neukey also competed at Oldencraig EC where he gained two plus 70% tests at Advanced Medium as there wasnt a judge available for the PSG. Neukey was much improved since our last outing at Addington with numerous 8s including for the half passes which are normally our let down mark.

news update
20th January 2016

Just a little update about what the team and Jess have been getting up to since our last update.

2015 was a big year for Jess as she made the leap to young riders. After many successes Neukey finished the season as reserve for the european team. Kiwi meanwhile’ competed at his first premier league at Hickstead in the 6 year old national and international young horse classes and has since made the jump to medium level where he was 2nd in his first competition.

We decided to move the horses home. A big decision but it was made a lot easier knowing we had Chantal Rowlands’ our new head girl. Chantal ensured the horses settled in well and now makes sure they are in the perfect condition to perform at their best.

We also welcomed Gucci–L to the team of horses. He is a 16hh gelding found by Rebecca Hughes. He has since competed at his first show where he travelled’ warmed up and competed very well and we are very excited for his future.

With the success of 2015 we welcomed new supporter’ Saracens to the team. We have been feeding Saracens for a long time and have benefited hugely by our local expert nutritionalist Rosie’ who ensures the horses are receiving the right nutrients and energy to perform at their best.

Looking to 2016’ Neukey will continue his training towards Grand Prix whilsts focussing on the PSG/Inter I classes in competition. Kiwi will be aimed for the summer regionals at medium and advanced medium while Gucci will be focussing on novice.

Happy New Year and we wish you all the luck for 2016!
